To Reference an Import File

Delete or turn the display off of any previously imported features.
Select File > Reference, then Tools > Attach on the Reference file dialog
Set the ‘Files of Type’ filter to be Import XML files (*.impx).
Select the previously saved import file.
The Import process will be run and the results attached as a reference file.
